The primary purpose of this book is to present quantitative forecasting of the mid-term probability of large earthquakes both globally and over various regions of the world.? This book is the author's 50+ years accumulation of achievements in researching and teaching geophysics and seismology for mitigation of earthquake disasters. 英國連鎖咖啡廳誤食過敏2年釀2死 11月起食品列過敏原標示
英國連鎖咖啡廳Pret a Manger證實，繼2016年有一名15歲女孩因為食物標示不清，誤食含芝麻籽麵包產生過敏反應而身亡後，2017年底也有一名顧客因為誤食含乳蛋白的薄餅而過敏身亡。Pret a Manger先前表示，下個月起將會在食品標示上清楚列出成分，以及過敏原標示，並盡快將新制度推行至英國的所有分店。
15歲女孩娜塔莎（Natasha Ednan-Laperouse）於2016年7月17日在倫敦飛往尼斯的飛機上，吃了購買自Pret a Manger希斯羅機場店的麵包，結果產生嚴重芝麻籽過敏反應。儘管她的父親立即替她注射2劑筆型腎上腺素EpiPen，她仍在幾小時內不治。據信那個麵包的芝麻籽被烘焙進麵包裡面，而不是撒在麵包皮表面，加上食物標示不清，導致娜塔莎誤食喪命。這個案子近期開庭，引發大眾對食物過敏的關注。英國首相梅伊（Theresa May）呼籲檢討食品商標法規。
不過，英國廣播公司（BBC）今天報導，這並不是Pret a Manger讓顧客誤食過敏食物，導致身亡的唯一案例。報導指出，Pret a Manger在2017年又讓一名顧客吃下本來應該不含奶製品的「超級素彩虹薄餅」，導致顧客乳蛋白過敏死亡。這起事件發生於去年12月27日，地點在巴斯分店。
Pret a Manger指出，產品內使用的優格來自素食優格品牌椰優（CoYo），本來不應該含乳製品，但事後檢測，在優格中發現乳蛋白。Pret a Manger表示，巴斯分店的死亡事件發生後，公司立即回收相關產品，並和椰優結束合作關係，正準備進行訴訟。
椰優（CoYo）則是在今年2月回收產品，目前接受食品標準局（Food Standards Agency）以及所在地的地方政府調查。
Pret a Manger發言人表示：「我們對這起不幸事件中顧客的親友致上最深慰問，將盡力提供協助。」
Pret a Manger日前表示，下個月起將會在食品標示上清楚列出成分，以及過敏原標示，並盡快將新制度推行至英國的所有分店。
歐盟規定的食品過敏源包括麥麩蛋白、甲殼動物、軟體動物、蛋類、魚、花生、堅果、大豆、牛奶、芹菜、芥末、芝麻、羽扇豆及二氧化硫等14種。根據法規要求，固體食品中過敏源含量超過10mg/kg，液體食品過敏源含量超過10mg/l的均需進行標註。有關規定已於2014年12月13日正式生效。
